The first snapshot of my romance with a 14-channel Mackie mixer, and the namesake of an ongoing series focused around this instrument. Gerard Grisey's magnum opus, Les espaces acoustiques, pumped through fourth-power analog distortion.
Form is paramount in Grisey's music. By flattening out the brilliant colors of his orchestration, we free our attention to focus on the ordering and sequencing of time.
The dynamism of analog manipulation does not survive onto headphones. Seek out quality speakers for the optimal listening experience.
